Hinterland holds a 100% interest in the 10-claim (520-hectare) Ebay PGE property located 30 kilometres southeast of Matagami in the Abitibi Region of Quebec. The ten claims cover an area where Hinterland previously discovered a new platinum group element or “PGE” zone in 2006.  The zone occurs as a distinctive layer or “reef”.  The discovery hole EB06-05 intersected 1.9gpt platinum and palladium over 3.0m from 80.5m with a 4:5 platinum to palladium ratio.

The Ebay property covers a small area of the central part Archean layered mafic Bell River Complex.  The central part of the Complex is acknowledged in as the most primitive, deepest level of the Complex and is identified as the most prospective area for reef-type PGE mineralization.  To the knowledge of Hinterland, the drill interval above was the first time that reef-type PGE mineralization was intersected by drilling in the Complex and as such was a unique and unprecedented discovery.

Next Steps

Hinterland intends to re-map and sample a number of trenches excavated in 2008. The estimated cost of the exploration is $10,000.
