Details

Hinterland holds a 100% interest in the 9-claim (464-hectare) Dunite Chrome-PGE property located approximately 90 kilometres southeast of Radisson in the Eeyou Istchee-James Bay area of Quebec.  The property adjoins the Sakami Apple property to the south.  The north boundary of the claims is approximately 13.5 kilometres south of the “La Pointe” or “025” zone where on-going drilling has most recently intersected (Canadian Strategic Metals Inc. press release, February 8, 2016):

  • 4.94gpt Au over 21.05m, including 6.35gpt Au over 10.55m (PT-16-92);
  • 4.01gpt Au over 22.6m, including 7.21gpt Au over 7.00m (PT-13-67);
  • 6.86gpt Au over 9.60m, including 9.49gpt Au over 6.50m (PT-15-87); and
  • 2.51gpt au over 48.20m, including 6.93gpt Au over 12.00m (PT-14-79).

The property can be accessed by boat or snow machine. However it is more than 50 kilometres on Sakami Lake from a point on the all-weather Trans-Taiga road. Access by float-plane or helicopter is likely more practical.

The Dunite property was staked to cover the “Nadine” chrome, platinum and palladium showing that occurs within a narrow band of ultramafic rocks that follows the north-trending Opinaca-La Grande contact zone for a distance of approximately 3.5 kilometres. The Nadine showing has returned up to 10.6% chromite (Goutier et al, 2000, MERQ RG 99-15), and 1.8gpt palladium and 0.8gpt platinum (MERQ GM 58697) from selected grab samples.

Next Steps

It is anticipated that the Company will complete line-cutting and geophysical, prospecting, mapping and sampling surveys over the Dunite claims in 2017 at an approximate cost of $7,500 subject to successful financing. Hinterland is actively seeking a joint venture partner for this project due to its relatively remote location.
